Newquay Town Council has a vacancy for an enthusiastic, efficient and professional Personal Assistant to the Town Clerk, based within the Town Clerk’s Office; covering for maternity on a fixed term contract. The post holder will be given 1 months notice upon return of the existing post holder. 

 

If you are from a business/office/administrative background, with experience in managing diaries, report writing, minute taking, handling calls diplomatically, signposting emails and general administrative functions, then we would like to hear from you. The post holder will also be required to manage a number of employees in the Town Clerk's Office and show any relevant experience managing or supervising a team. 

 

The Town Clerk and his office handles a significant amount of paperwork, calls and emails each day, as well as numerous reports, letters and meeting minutes which need to be processed within strict deadlines.

 

Applicants must be willing to work during evenings with time-off in lieu, as most committee meetings take place during a weekday evening. The post holder will also be supporting other officers as needed as the Town Clerk’s Office is a very small team who work together on a range of projects and tasks.
